We opened in 2010 as a café serving panini’s and cakes to accompany our freshly brewed coffee. We only had 3 staff and we can all still remember our first day on the 15th of February.During 2010 we obtained our alcohol licence and introduced acoustic nights to the café, we met some great people and some fantastic local talent.

Listening to our customers we worked hard to gain some extra space which allowed us to start doing breakfasts on Saturday and Sundays and in 2011 we extended this to become a 7 day a week offering.

2012 saw the café continue to grow and develop, both the acoustic nights and the singer nights remained popular and we were planning the introduction of the Bistro. This was also the year we won our first award for 'New Business of the Year' at the East Yorkshire's Women into Business award.2013 has been really exciting and to date we have developed the building to include a new commercial kitchen upstairs, we have grown our team to 9 including our fantastic new Chef and we now run as a restaurant 3 nights a week. We are so grateful for the support of all our customers and we wouldn’t be here without you, we hope that next year our story will be even longer and we will have even more friends of Atkinson’s to share it with.
