Barnard's offer the best in fine dining and a place to relax and enjoy a drink or light meal.
Barnard’s restaurant is situated on the Hambledon road in the village of Denmead. Sandie and David have been running Barnard’s for 25 years starting out in Cosham high street and moving to Denmead in 1992. David trained as a chef at Highbury college gaining valuable experience at the Old House Hotel in Wickham under the watchful eye of Mr and Mrs. Skipwith, going on to work with top renowned chefs Raymond Blanc and John Burton-Race.
Barnard’s day begins at 9.00am serving continental pastries, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, to a full English breakfast which can be enjoyed reading the daily newspapers with freshly ground coffee or one of our speciality teas. Coffee mornings at Barnard's are a great place to meet up with friends or just time on your own to get away from it all. Lunch is served from 11.45am offering sandwiches made with freshly baked bloomer or wholemeal bread.
Classic daily specials such as Battered cod and chips, lambs liver with onion gravy and creamy mash potato or choose from our main menu for something a little bit special Cream Tea or a Full Afternoon tea is offered from 11.45. Home baked warm scones with Dorset clotted cream and strawberry jam with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches is a must for those warm afternoons in our quiet secluded garden. Dinners are served on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings offering fine dining, winning accolades from major food guides
