The club was founded in the 1930s and still retains its original club house which was used by the Home Guard during WWII and has recently attracted the attention of the Hall Green Preservation Group. The club has recently benefited from a Sports England grant and now boasts a brand new Tiger Turf astro multi-sports surface, mens and ladies changing rooms and a kitchen in the clubhouse. The club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Assocication (LTA) via the Warwickshire LTA. This entitles members to free LTA British Tennis Membership and to enter the ballot for the Wimbledon tickets allocated to the club.The club offers Coaching for both juniors and adults, with junior coaching run on a Sunday morning.The club’s adult social tennis sessions are run on a Sunday afternoon, from 2pm, and Wednesday evening (during Britsh Summer Time only), from 6pm.The club organises several mixed doubles tournaments during the year, for which the Ken Wilcox trophies are presented (one mens and one ladies). These take place on either Saturday or Sunday afternoons (in place of social tennis). In May, the club holds its Ladies and Mens days.Every year, starting at the end of May, the club holds its championship which culminates in early September with our Finals Day. This comprises mens and ladies events, both singles and doubles, and a mixed doubles event.The club has both a mens and a ladies doubles team entered in the Birmingham Area Lawn Tennis League and a mixed doubles team entered in the Metropolitan Summer League.The club is not just about tennis. We have many social events throughout the year including Quiz Nights, petanque evenings, meals out, barbeques, a Beer & Skittles Night and a Christmas party. There are also table tennis evenings held Thursday evenings in the clubhouse during the winter months.
