A brief history…

Chestnut Building Centres is a family owned, Independent Builders Merchant, based in Liverpool.We began life as a roofing contractor back in the late seventies and very quickly gained a reputation for excellence, both in the high standard of our work and our unrivalled customer service. The business grew steadily and in 1985 we opened a roofing supplies company which ran alongside the contracting side of the business. Chestnut Roofing Supplies, as it was then called, served the roofing community of Liverpool with great success, continuing to offer the same first class service as it had done previously. Before long we opened a second branch in Prenton, Wirral.In 1996, following changes within the staffing structure, the decision was taken to concentrate all our efforts on the merchant side of the business, no longer offering a roofing contractors service. The company has since gone from strength to strength. In recent years we have almost trebled the size of our premises and with the development of our Building, Timber and Roofing departments, we now supply a far more comprehensive range of products from underground drainage to roof tiles with everything in between.
As a consequence of this it was decided, in April 2012, on a change of name… Chestnut Building Centres.This new name heralds a brand new chapter in Chestnut's success story.
