Construction Cost Management Services is owned and managed by John McGurty,  M.R.I.C.S.Commencing work as a young Quantity Surveyor with Tarmac Construction (now Carillion) in 1976, he studied Quantity Surveying at Preston Polytechnic (now University of Central Lancashire) passing his external qualification as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor before completion of the course.  At 23 years of age, a spell working for a main contractor in Saudi Arabia followed. This was an ideal learning base, as the job encompassed the Site Manager, Site Engineer and Procurement roles, as well as the traditional Quantity Surveyor.Returning to the UK, and re-joining Tarmac Construction, John worked his way up to Managing Quantity Surveyor and Group Surveyor with medium sized building contractors and residential developers.With over 30 years experience on traditional and design & build projects, and working closely with sub-contractors during this period, John is well aware of the many problems that contractors and sub-contractors can encounter during a construction project. He is very experienced in resolving these problems, and implementing procedures from the outset to limit exposure to such matters. Construction Cost Management Services Limited was formed in 2009.
