The motivation for creating our restaurant was simple; we felt there was nowhere in the area offering what we wanted in a place to eat. Somewhere with a relaxed atmosphere where you could feel equally comfortable in a pair of jeans or a suit and tie. Somewhere that served a good pint as well as unusual wines by the glass; where you could sit at the bar and enjoy a drink with your friends.We’re inspired to offer not only good food, but something a little unusual, something a bit exceptional. Food that has been prepared with care and presented with professional flair and imagination. And although the food is important, it’s only part of the package; we want our guests to enjoy the whole experience – to be made to feel special.It seems we weren’t the only ones looking for this kind of eating experience. Since opening the doors of our refurbished inn and restaurant it has gone from strength to strength.The function room has been revamped and is open for a range of events, meetings and occasions. Work has been completed on our tastefully decorated and furnished en-suite bedrooms, to provide a complete ‘country inn’ experience for guests.To some it’s the perfect place for a celebration dinner. To others it’s the place to go for a family Sunday lunch. There are those who see it as the ideal venue for their silver wedding party – or the pub they stop at after work for a quick bite to eat. We think The Golden Fleece is the perfect place if you love to unwind with good food and a great bottle of wine… we look forward to seeing you!
