The Grimsby Van Centre is part of Great Coates Motors a business with over 35 years combined experience.

In the 35 years since Great Coates Motors was founded by Bill and Jean McCartney, the business has grown from a small garage in Great Coates village to a large, modern workshop and offices on the South Humberside Industrial Estate, Grimsby, now run by their son Allan.

Allan McCartney took over as Managing Director in 2003 and has continued to develop and expand the services available to Great Coates Motors customers.

The extensive experience of the staff at Great Coates Motors allows the business to give its customers the highest levels of support, skill and knowledge, ensuring vehicles are always serviced or repaired to the highest of standards.

Great Coates Motors were very proud to be appointed as a Bosch Car Care Centre in 2002, an excellent accolade for any motor repair business, but they have gone one better - Great Coates Motors came through the Bosch audit with the highest grading ever attained in the UK and in their 2010 audit achieved a grade of 94% to prove their consistency of performance to their customers.

Following the Bosch Car Care Centre appointment Great Coates Motors continue to purchase the latest diagnostic equipment to ensure they continually give better diagnostic service to all vehicle owners, particularly corporate clients.

The growth of the business has been achieved through a continual development and training programme, combined with a friendly customer approach, deriving from its background as a family run business - something that is echoed throughout the work ethic of Great Coates Motors itself.

The administrative department has also benefited from recent investment with the installation of the latest computer systems - assisting the management of the fully equipped parts and service departments to combine the knowledge of a main dealer with the benefits of an independent garage.
