Harpenden Bowling Club is one of the town’s unsung treasures.  It is hidden away behind the houses in Spenser Road and has won several awards from Anglia in Bloom as best sporting facility in the area.

The club is justifiably proud of its successes in National, County & District competitions; competitive bowlers of all ages find plenty of opportunity to take part in exciting games and to represent Harpenden across the region. Indeed, the club includes the current National Junior Singles runner-up, the County Senior Singles champion, the Herts/Beds Mixed Pairs champions and several other players who have successfully represent Hertfordshire at National & County level.

However, it is the club's focus on ensuring that players of all abilities and ages are welcomed that has ensured the cluAbb ihas thrived throughout its hundred year history and is still going strong today. Unlike many other sports, the bowls philosophy is to encourage all skill levels. Players of all abilities, including those completely new to the sport, take part in matches.  At Harpenden Bowling Club the new members are as important an element of the club’s well-being as are the more experienced bowlers.
