James Chapman (Butchers) Ltd. has been serving the local community since 1893. From farm to table, we source, supply, process, cut, trim, prepare, bake and sell the finest quality meats, sausages, pies, puddings and traditional meat specialities.

It is the aim of the company to produce as many high quality products as is possible on our own company premises, creating and supporting local employment.

It is company policy to provide the highest quality of beef, lamb and pork which at all times is sourced by a member of the Chapman family from markets and farms throughout Scotland and the North of England.



The company employs 128 people.

We have:

• 6 Retail Shops
• 2 Bakehouses
• Abattoir
• Preparation Centre

The preparation centre creates our wide range of sausages, burgers, black pudding, haggis, dumpling, bacon and cooked meats - and oven ready dishes, such as lasagne, macaroni cheese and shepherds pie.

The two bakehouses prepare scones, cakes and bread and are the source of our Award Winning range of savoury pies.
