Jojo's Childminding Service

JoJo’s Childminding Service was established in September 2011 and I was graded as ‘Good’ by OFSTED at my first inspection in January 2012.  To view my report please visit OFSTED’s website.  Since this time, I have worked with parents to further improve the service that I offer.

I am a member of the National Childminding Association have comprehensive insurance cover and the required paediatric first aid training.  

I have a range of resources suitable for all ages to ensure that children have appropriate opportunities to learn, develop and have fun.  Children have access to the downstairs room in my house.  I also have a downstairs toilet which helps me to supervise all children without the need for them to go upstairs and is also useful when it comes to toilet training.

I have a spacious and secure garden with many outdoor toys.  I also use the natural environment to provide further learning opportunities, growing flowers, plants and vegetables.

I plan activities suitable for the age of children I am caring for.  This includes arts and crafts and baking which is really fun and eating the results is an added bonus!  We visit local play groups, and take part in events and activities at children’s centres.  We also go on ‘big days out’ to museums and other facilities beyond the local area.

I understand that each child is different and that parents/carers take different approaches to their children’s learning and development.  I work closely with parents to ensure that the approach they take at home is continued in my setting where possible.  This could for example include the approach to weaning and toilet training.
