We have many years of experience as dog owners and know that some dogs may cope well with short periods in kennels, however ours did not and found the whole kennel environment stressful.  At home our dog experienced our full attention during playtime but also relished quiet times to relax. Sadly, this was not available in a kennel environment and a stay in kennels resulted in signs of stress.  We realised we simply could not send our beloved dog to kennels again - and so followed many years of walking holidays in dog friendly accommodation.  As he grew older and could no longer cope with long walking holidays, he stayed with family for a more peaceful holiday!  At Dogs Retreat we understand that not everyone has family or friends that can help with the care of a dog and that many owners feel boarding kennels are not an option for a beloved dog.  There may be times when you need to ensure your dog is cared for whilst away on holiday or a business trip - if so we can help. Sadly our 'little man' is no longer with us and Dogs Retreat home boarding was created in his memory to provide a loving and caring home environment for dogs, as a kinder, stress-free alternative to the traditional kennel environment.  Our home is situated in a lovely quiet setting in rural Worcestershire with a large secure garden surrounded by walks in open countryside and orchards. Whilst living in our home, as part of the family, your dog will be cared for with our undivided love and attention, where there are no other dogs or children.  Your dog will be a special guest in our home. Neil & Sharon
