Trusted for 10 years
We are very pleased to announce that local artist Frank Casey has recently donated a statue of Thomas Watters to the museum. Thomas volunteered as an ambulance driver during the Spanish Civil War and afterwards, settled in St Albans where he spent the next 73 years of his life. To celebrate, we are hosting a small display about Thomas and his involvement in the Spanish Civil War. Also on display is a pop-up exhibition curated by the International Brigade Memorial Trust about the role played by the International Brigades in supporting those fighting fascism in Spain.
