Following a £1.9 million HLF refurbishment the Museum of Wigan Life (formerly the History Shop) has re-opened.
There are exciting exhibitions, new educational and research facilities, revamped decoration and improved access. Edward Haytley's portrait of Sir and Lady Bradshaigh has been redisplayed. Some museum tours also include a viewing of George Earl's 19th-century narrative painting Going North which is displayed in Wigan Town Hall.
