Trusted for 10 years
I have lived rurally and
owned dogs all of my life.
My passion for dogs is huge and have read and learnt
much about their diet, health, psychology and behaviour over the years.
Girlie is a German Pointer with bundles of energy.
She is my second in command and helps keep any unruly behaviour in
check!
Hector is a Springer Spaniel with Loyalty running
through his veins. He is mature and calm but adores a good tennis ball at any
time of the day.
I founded Oxford Dogs in 2009.
Initially, I set the company up as a successful dog
walking business.
The dog walking side of the business was sold in
2011, mainly because it did so well and I could no longer manage on my own. Plus
I would rather stay home on my beautiful rural land, than drive around in the
city!
I love what I do, so I could not say goodbye to all
of the dogs forever - our dog boarding service is also a success and we have
many regular clients.
So Oxford Dogs continues from 2011 to cater for all
of the dog boarding, and to open up the opportunity for a regularly requested
service: Dog Day Care.
We are now a family run business, with my mother
working with me in her retirement! Tanya sits with the dogs when I have to pop
out so that the dogs are never left alone.
My husband and two children also help out with caring
for the group.
I meet so many owners who for one reason or another,
find it hard to give their dogs as much company and exercise as often as their
dog needs.
It may be down to a busy work schedule, a new baby
due, illness or old age.
These things need not stop us from enjoying the
companionship of dogs but it is important to meet their needs, for their own
health and well-being.
In our busy lives, dog day care and dog walkers are a
much needed essential!
Other than dogs, my other personal passions include
yoga, dancing, gardening and cross country running.
