Description

Through treating patients privately, while working as Head of Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine at Birmingham City Football Club, Neil McDiarmid, the founder of Physio World, recognised that the level of care afforded to Premier League footballers and elite performers was not readily available to the general public.

 

To address this deficit Neil developed Physio World, training the physiotherapists working under his tutelage at the football club to deliver to the general public a product conventionally available only to Premier League footballers and other professional athletes. As word spread about this company delivering world-class treatment, demand grew and from its original team of three therapists Physio World has expanded to meet growing demand for its services.

 

Since those early days, the company has grown significantly thanks to the continued training and development of its physiotherapists in accordance with the original principles set out by Neil, and its continued dedication to providing a world-class product. The unique ethos of delivering treatment and rehabilitation strategies once reserved for an elite few is being realised as Physio World develops and provides its services to an ever larger number of people. We now have nearly 130 physiotherapists working from 100 clinics across England and Wales.

 

Over 20 years' experience has gone into developing our multifaceted treatment approach, which incorporates aspects of treatment that are not always commonly found in physiotherapy. The Physio World treatment product incorporates aspects of soft-tissue massage and manipulation, myofascial release, osteopathic manipulation, podiatry/biomechanical assessment/gait analysis, strength and conditioning and bespoke individual rehabilitation programs to have maximum impact on your symptoms and get you back to fitness fast, whether from a short-term/long-term injury or post-surgery.

 

Our therapists have seen thousands of patients; to ensure that the service we deliver is of the highest quality, all our therapists receive regular, rigorous training to complement this experience. They receive intensive 1-2-1 training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each week, complemented by additional weekly and monthly training schedules and seminars. Our ongoing training and development program for therapists not only meets but exceeds the recommendations for CPD set out by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health Professionals Council (HPC).
