Capturing the essence of the Mediterranean, Ricci’s Place has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy innovative, homemade food and great service.

This privately-run restaurant is headed up by restauranteur and head chef Michael Ricci, who already holds a great reputation in the area. Michael, of Italian descent, spent his summers growing up in Italy, which is where his passion for food began: “As a young boy I would stand in awe and watch my nonna cook. Helping her to make fresh pasta, drying it in the sun and climbing the olive trees to pick the ripest, tastiest olives, I knew that food was going to be a big part of my life.

These memories are what inspired my concept for Ricci’s Place; making fresh pasta on-site every day, using the freshest and highest quality ingredients and providing authentic Mediterranean food, just as you would have found it sat round the table with the family at nonna’s farm in Italy” – Michael RicciIn an area that is fast developing to become the hub of Halifax’s town centre, the restaurant is located in a grand grade II listed building, originally built by the Crossley brothers in the 1800′s as an extension to the Town Hall.

Now, transformed into a vibrant yet rustic space, the restaurant still boasts it’s original vaulted ceilings, Corinthian pillars, sash windows and oak sliding doors, giving the place a sense of character.Open from 9am until late evening Monday to Saturday, we provide a varied breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, or if it’s just a quick coffee you fancy or a tub of delicious Italian ice-cream, we will always welcome you with open arms!Prue gives us the thumbs up!! – Prue Leith, a world famous foodie and the founder of Leiths School of Food and Wine who co-presents ‘Great British Menu’ for the BBC recently visited our restaurant.
