Trusted for 10 years
Saffrons Bistro was started in 1995 by owners Nick & Chrissy Hunt who wanted to give Worcester a different dining experience. No pretention, no fuss. Just good, honest, local food delivered in a laid-back, relaxing and informal atmosphere. And why has Saffrons remained such a popular dining experience after all these years?
Our food has that home-cooked feel, like the best your mum makes. Wholesome, tasty and you'll generally leave feeling full! Our style of cuisine if we had to put a label on it is British or European but with the occasional bit of inspiration drawn in from further afield. Game, fish, seafood, steaks, cassoulets, risottos, salads. We can generally cater for all tastes and will always make an effort with those who suffer with food allergies such as gluten or dairy. Nick has a love of classic music from the 60's, 70's and 80's and our music playlists are often commented on and help create that sense of nostalgia we so enjoy.
We always have a great wine list, from well-known, easy-drinking classics, to some lesser known but delicious counterparts. We have wine to suit the full range of connoisseurs.Through our love of gin, we are building up a nice selection of gins to try. From the classic Plymouth (always served with Fever Tree tonic as per the distillery's recommendation) to our current favourite Brockmans, infused with Bulgarian coriander giving it an unusual but delicious orange flavour, if you love gin you'll love it at Saffrons. And our atmosphere. It's laid-back. It's cosy. It's rustic. Everything is slightly uneven, a little bit wonky, which is just the way we love it.
Our bar area is a largely undiscovered gem. Perfect for a pre-dinner drink or an after dinner liqueur coffee.
