Smithfield Butchers opened its doors in May 2009.
The owner Jeff Cowling took over the shop in Smithfield Street that was previously being used by Thomas Ford as a butcher’s sundries shop.
Jeff set up Smithfield Butchers taking the expertise and quality principals that he has developed as a Manager over the years. Working hard to better the standard of any butchers and caterers that Jeff had experienced. Smithfield Butchers now boast a state of the art temperature controlled cutting room and full HACCP and traceability systems. We have large underground fridges enabling us to buy in bulk with a cost saving that we pass on to our customers.
Smithfield Butchers now opens 6 days per week, Both to the public who can purchase as little as a single chop all the way up to restaurant groups who purchase thousands of pounds worth of meat in any one delivery.
