skills & experience to create something we believe can make a real
difference.
We all have a great passion for what we do. We have lived &
breathed dance, performance & fitness since young ages. And so
Starlight was borne – we want to share our love with everyone no matter
what age or sex because of the great benefits moving and shaking can
bring to all aspects of life!

KIM OWEN

Kim Owen
Kim started dancing at a young age and began her Musical Theatre Debut at 6 years old playing Gretal in The Sound of Music with Hereford Musical Theatre Company (HMTC) at the old Hereford Nell Gwynne Theatre. She has never been far from the stage since continuing to take Principal roles with HMTC her last being Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie as well as Hereford Amateur Pantomime Society, Bottleneck Theatre Company and The Little Princess Players.
She has also choreographed shows for all of the above companies as well as the hugely popular Hereford Gang Show and Hereford Sixth Form College, where she now teaches GCSE, AS and A2 Dance along with A2 Theatre Studies & Grade 6 and 8 Musical Theatre.
Kim trained in Hereford and qualified with an Advanced GNVQ in
Performing Arts before leaving for the bright lights of London for 3
years at The Stella Mann Dance College. She graduated from
there with her Teaching & Performing Diplomas as well as a Teaching
certificate with The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and further Teaching
qualifications with The Imperial Society Teachers of Dance (ISTD).
Kim is renowned in Hereford as one of our best Dance Teachers, she
has entered many children and adults in to Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz
exams ranging from age 3-65+
BECKS WHITE

Rebecca White
Having started dancing at the age of 3 Becks hasn’t stopped since!
She has achieved many grades in ISTD ballet, tap and modern as well as
GCSE Dance. Becks has been an active member of HMTC joining the company
in 1999 for The Wizard of Oz, she has since been a lead dancer in productions as well as taking Principal roles in The Boyfriend, Crazy for You and 42nd Street.
Becks has also choreographed productions for the company and is now the
(voluntary) Marketing & Publicity Manager having worked in
Marketing for 8 years since graduating from Cardiff University with BA
(Hons) in English Language as well as a Professional Diploma in
Marketing.
When not dancing, Becks works in the family Estate Agency business in Hereford, Andrew Morris Estate Agents as Marketing Consultant.
Becks is also involved with Young Enterprise in Herefordshire and has
been a Business Advisor for Herefordshire College of Technology since
2006 winning West Midlands Business Advisor of the Year in 2008.
Becks is REPS accredited with Exercise to Music Level 2. She is a
fully qualified Zumba instructor & is a ZIN member as well as being
trained in Zumba Kids, Spirals, Ballroom Blitz, Fitsteps, Street Fit
and BarreConcept. She
is also a Classical Yoga Instructor. Becks is a qualified member of the
BDAF (British Dance Arts Federation) and she teaches a variety of
Dance-based fitness classes around the county as well as being a keen
runner herself, completing the St Michael’s Hospice Hereford Half
Marathon twice. Becks is also kept busy by her young daughter Elizabeth.
A lifetime highlight for Becks was that she appeared on “Strictly –
It takes two” dancing the Chachacha with Lionel Blair on the Strictly
dance floor before the live Saturday night show. More recently she
appeared on Simon Mayo’s BBC Radio 2 Drive Time show giving advice on
learning dance steps at home.
VICKY LIGHTOWLER

Vicky Lightowler
Vicky began her dance training at the age of 3 at the Hereford Ballet School
until she was 18 and she obtained an Advanced GNVQ in Performing Arts
at college before moving to Liverpool to continue her training.
She studied at The Merseyside Dance & Drama Centre and graduated from there with a Professional Diploma in Dance as well as ISTD qualifications in Tap, Dance and Modern Theatre.
Vicky has experience in varying dance techniques as she completed her
Advance National which includes such styles as Irish & Greek,
Ballroom & Latin.
After Dance College Vicky went back to work at the school where it all began for her (Hereford Ballet School) and she taught there for 5 years as well as choreographing school performances and preparing and entering pupils for exams.
Vicky now teaches at Aspire Dance Studio
in Weobley, as well as this she is a fully qualified Street Fit
instructor as well as Zumba and Zumba Toning instructor & is a ZIN
member taking many of her own classes around the county including into
other Herefordshire schools & colleges including Hereford Academy
and Hereford Sixth Form College. Her great love is Tap and she performed
with HMTC in April 2011 in Crazy for You and 42nd Street in November 2013. When not dancing Vicky is a mum to her son Tom.
LAURA ANNE

Laura Anne
Laura Anne joined The Starlight Company as an instructor in April
2013. She has been dancing from a young age in all disciplines from
Ballet to Ballroom. She has also performed and choreographed musicals
with Hereford Musical Theatre Company. She is an Exercise to Music
Instructor and also is fully trained in Zumba and Fitsteps. She is
Training to be a Master Fitsteps Instructor.
