The Cow Shed focuses on serving local seasonal produce, cooked with a modern English style – presented to you in our cosey and intimate dining room by a professional team of attentive waiting staff, and accompanied by a wide selection of wines. Owner Robert and his team aim to showcase the excellent fare Yorkshire has to offer on our set lunch and á la carte menus while our dedicated front of house team ensure you have an exceptional dining experience.

We are open for lunch Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 2.00pm and for dinner Monday to Saturday from 6:00pm to 9:30pm.We have great value set menus available at lunchtime 12pm to 2.00pm (two courses £12.95, 3 courses £14.95) and an early bird menu available all Monday evening and between 6 and 7pm Tuesday to Saturday (2 and 3 courses £14.95 and £17.95) We are located on North Gate in Central Wakefield, opposite the main post office.

Set in a stunning Grade 2 listed building around which Joanne Harris created the book Chocolat – adapted into the famous film of the same name.
