The Queens Head

Trusted for 10 years

The Queen’s Head was built in the mid 1700 probably as a coach house but in it’s time it has also been a courthouse (apparently with its own gallows) but has been a pub for some considerable time.

Originally not all the rooms would have been used for drinking, but now, what would have been the stables has been restored, as have the other rooms, bringing back snugs, bars, fireplaces and even a pewter bar, there is also outside seating both front and back. Even the cellar has been refurbished, out of sight but not out of mind.

An open kitchen shows we are as serious about our food as we are about our ales. Outdside you’ll fiind a lovely garden dining area and plenty of car parking space.

By the way, in case you were wondering; the Queen in question would have been Margravine Caroline of Brandenburg-Ansbach, or Queen Caroline to you and me.

P.S. Though we have no evidence, we are told the place is haunted by a quarrelling couple.
