 am an independent, female driving instructor with a wealth of experience in teaching people to drive and operate my own driving school in Colchester and the surrounding villages.  I am qualified with the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) and a member of the national DIA (Driving Instructors Association) and commit to their Code of Practice.  In addition I am the Vice Chair of the local DIA.I take great pride in the reputation I have built during my career and the fact that I am a Grade 6 level instructor which is the highest attainable grade, having been awarded to only 7% of instructors across the UK.  So what does this mean?The Driving Standard Agency has a responsibility to ensure all driving instructors meet with certain standards.  Therefore on a regular basis, we are required to prove our continued ability and fitness to instruct.  A Supervising Examiner subjects us to a rigorous practical test and then grades us accordingly.  (Grade 1 is the lowest through to Grade 6 the highest).  A Grade 6 instructor must demonstrate an overall performance to a very high standard with no significant instructional weaknesses.
