Hi, I’m Mick, the Managing Director of Wellington Sliding Sash Ltd.I made my start in carpentry in the Army, Royal Engineers, some time ago and I found it becoming a passion of mine. After leaving the Army I remained in the carpentry trade working on honing a plethora of skills. Later, I made the decision to specialise in one specific area - the sliding sash window - bringing pride and professionalism into your home.
Wellington Sliding Sash is a family-run business specialising in the design, manufacture and fitting of bespoke Victorian wooden sliding sash windows.
As well as using traditional building methods we are not afraid to incorporate more modern products into the design to improve the life span and function of the sliding sash. For example, we now use a waxed cotton sash cord with a nylon core that has improved strength and weatherproofing.
The axle pulleys we use are manufactured in the UK and employ bearings rather than a dry pin. The pulley itself has a round groove to aid with the longevity of the cord.
All our fittings are available in brass,polished chrome or satin chrome.At your request we can also fit the following;-A UK manufactured Weeks sash stop/finger catch. This prevents the windows being fully opened from the out side.A discreet dual locking pin/screw  which locks the sliding sash closed.
All our windows are Double Glazed Units built with 16mm air gaps and Saint Gobain energy efficient glass.
All the wooden sashes and frames are treated with a dual purpose wood preservative to prevent against wood rot, dry rot, and wood boring insects and then given one coat of  white primer.
