In the early 1800's, James Dandy (above) realised how rich and fertile the soil around the historic City of Chester was,
soon after he began working his new quality topsoil and producing the finest fruit and vegetables.



 Soon after he opened the very first stall in what is now known as the Old Chester Market and he began selling his produce.

Today James's Gt.Gt Grandson Adam Dandy and his wife Clare as well as a highly dedicated loyal team of friends continue to make their living from this same quality soil topsoil, ensuring that our claims of being Britain’s leading topsoil producers and experts in our field can be backed up! 
 
Not only were we the first in the UK to begin selling online, we’re also the first to repeatedly create, trial and bring to market the finest topsoil and compost blends in production today.
