THE OLD BILL'S BISTRO
Welcome to The Old Bill Bistro, founded in 1995 by Paolo - the cirrent propriator - and Marco Senior, Paolo's father on a backstreet behind the Police Station in Oldham - it is plain to see the vintage police theme influence on our restaurant. We moved to our current location in 2010 to give our loyal patrons a stunning new restraurant to enjoy, not to mention we are more centrally located - next to the Queen Street car park and very close to the future Metro station on Union Street.
The Old Bill is definitely not for you if you're looking for a modern, state of the art dining experience with clean lines, bright lights and contemporary furniture. If however are searching for traditional surroundings with woodern floors, comfortable furnishings, soft lighting, mellow music and a relaxed atmosphere then allow the Bissolati Family to welcome you to The Old Bill in Oldham.
As you step into our bistro on the ground floor you will be surrounded by vintage and modern police force memorabilia - the link back to our "bobby shop" roots. There is also a very strong link to the Bissolati family history with old furniture, pictures and artifacts dotted around the restaurant. We have created a real "step back in time" feeling to the place.
Our food is a fusion of English cuisine with Italian influences. The best of both worlds from a simple steak to continental flavour explosions. Our bistro menu has remained much the same throughout the history of The Old Bill for one reason - it's success.
From our famous leg of lamb to papa's spicy Italian meatballs, every dish is sublime. Specials are offered on a daily basis, giving regular customers something new to try. Recently we have decided to develop our Vegetarian and Gluten Free options, giving a very good selection. Our home made desserts have got quite the name for themselves so make sure you save a little room for a slice of Lisa's Raspberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake.
